Yaam

is a one-of-a-kind, open-air arena located directly on water. Originally a site where cargo ships were unloaded, today it is a place where hundreds of people can meet on summer weekends and enjoy 'reggae,' 'ragga,' 'hip-hop' and 'jungle,' or just mellow out in the relaxing atmosphere. The bar is a solid piece of wood, over 20 meters long. The many snackstands serve ethno-food of all sorts. There is also a streetball court, a skateboard half-pipe, a practice tower for free-climbing, as well as other attractions which make Yaam a kind of multicultural amusement park. There's even a day-care center. The only drawbacks are the long lines on days when the weather is nice. Recently, the Yaam moved some hundreds meters further north, to Eichenstraße 4, Tel. 615 13 54 (May to September), www.yaam.de
